The influence of thermal expansion of disk specimens made of carbon-carbon composite materials on the stability of their tribological characteristics in a friction pair with a ceramic ring counterbody is studied theoretically and experimentally. The temperature characteristics of composites with two different structures — fibrous and fabric — are studied. The experimental dependences of the load change on time during frictional heating are compared with the calculation model obtained by methods of contact interaction mechanics. A relation is established between changes in interface stiffness and the dependence of the coefficient of thermal expansion on temperature for the materials under study. Uneven wear of the fabric composite is revealed at the initial stage with destruction of fabric layers and tearing out of structural components.
