The issues related to the temperature in the contact zone during flat grinding of materials, the propagation of heat flow in the contacting bodies, the influence of processing modes on the intensity of the thermal pulses that occur, as well as the effect of COL on the temperature decrease in the cutting zone are considered. The results of theoretical calculations of the temperature in the cutting zone during flat grinding of steels and their comparison with experimental results are presented.
