This paper presents a novel control strategy for the three-phase AC/DC boost converter, using proportional resonance (PR) control to optimize output voltage performance. The paper delves into the intricacies of the mathematical model and working principle, discussing control strategies and the systematic determination of resonance path coefficients, resonant, and proportional gains. The PR controller effectively cancels harmonics while maintaining high gain at the resonant frequency, allowing for quick reference signal tracking, grid frequency drift adaptation, easy system design, and no steady-state error. Simulations were carried out using the Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) real-time Typhoon HIL 602 platform to assess the performance of the proposed control. Results demonstrated the superiority of the PR control strategy compared to traditional PI control. The methodology presented in this paper provides an effective approach to designing PR controllers.
