The article is devoted to the description of the technology of using a checklist during the lessons of the Russian language in a polycultural environment using the example of studying comparative constructions, revealing and considering the methodological tendencies of using a checklist at the lessons of Russian as a foreign language, presenting the learning potential of the checklist and its functions, possibilities of its implementation. The authors propose methodological developments of using a check-list at Russian language lessons in a polycultural environment for studying comparative constructions, compile checklist samples and exercises aimed at a deep study of a language phenomenon providing learning motivation of students, forming their linguistic and communicative competences as well as successful achievement of the planned educational results. The potential of the checklist in the effective and simultaneous solution of several important methodological problems is defined: the possibility of clear and transparent structuring of the material under study, increasing the independence of students in performing learning tasks, a way to monitor and adjust the progress of students and, ultimately, the way to fix the level of students’ mastering of the subject knowledge.
