There is an enduring underrepresentation of diverse groups in the STEM fields across the US and Europe. A rich literature of theory, observation, and evidence-based practices can help create a more equitable, inclusive, and diverse environment in the STEM fields. We propose the implementation of a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) journal club as a strategic initiative to foster education and facilitate discussions on these critical topics. Such a journal club can serve as a platform for exploring DEIJ theories and developing strategies to close equity gaps, promoting inclusivity. Emphasizing the principles of Restorative Practices, we offer ten specific recommendations to foster community cohesion through a combination of education and mutual understanding. This approach underscores the importance of appropriate action and self-education in the journey toward a more diverse and inclusive academic environment in STEM disciplines.
