This study introduces LoRa technology to build a new generation of power grid data transmission communication platform, studies the direct communication method between the main station system and the electricity meter, and studies the feasibility of using LoRa technology instead of GPRS/CDMA technology in the data transmission system of the power grid. The communication network formed by LoRa technology can play an increasingly important role in the fields of smart grid lines, smart distribution networks, smart power supply networks, and smart electricity safety in the future, providing a "last mile" wireless communication network capability supplement for the existing wired private network of Southern Power Grid.
