In the field of the manufacturing industry, numerous instances on transformation of tangible goods produced into services through the phenomenon of "Servitization" have been illustrated. Conversely, research endeavors exploring the conversion of services into goods, known as "Productization," have been undertaken. However, a precise conceptualization and exemplification of these transformations have yet to be clearly delineated. This study posits that Servitization and Productization do not manifest in analogous directions within the same dimension but emerge in disparate dimensions. Furthermore, our investigation reveals "Modularization" as a pivotal catalyst for productization, and we propose "Informatization" and "Tangibilization" as essential processes constituting the core of Modularization. To render the presented framework more concrete, we emphasize the necessity for case supplementation. Moreover, we advocate for subsequent research to explore successful paths of modularization, recognizing the need for further exploration in this domain.
