As it is seen that Flyback converter has been widely used in low power offline application due to its simplicity and cost effectiveness. For our application that requires delivering an average output power of 50 Watt, a choke filter is used instead of a power transformer. The output voltage and output current are typically sensed and managed by an isolated feedback circuit with an optocoupler which in turn sends the signal to PWM controller. The PWM controller can operate up to 500kHz. The regulated output voltage designated is 24 V which is fed to the AC drives for its operation. Flyback converters are often used for DC-DC conversion and electrical isolation because they are simple to use, have a low component count, and are compact.
