This paper explores the design of a half-moon ring-shaped planar monopole antenna for ultra-wideband applications across various frequency ranges. The prescribed slotted ring antenna is manufactured over the FR4 epoxy substrate. Copper material was used in designing the top patch and ground plane in this antenna. The geometric size specifications of the designed antenna are 35mm×30mm×1.6mm. The slotted ring antenna resonates at a frequency of 8.2 GHz. The designed half-moon ring antenna achieves a reflection coefficient of -38.09 dB at the resonant frequency of 8.2 GHz. The antenna has a bandwidth of -10dB that ranges from 2 GHz to 13.6 GHz. The specified slotted ring antenna attains a net gain of 3.844 dBi at the resonating frequency of 8.2 GHz. The antenna is able to obtain the highest gain of 6.87 dBi, which is achieved at 12.7 GHz. A transmission efficiency of 97.88% is also achieved by the designed antenna. The antenna is best suited for modern wireless communication applications.
