Template-assisted synthesis reveals strong antimicrobial activity in tetrazamacrocyclic complexes, suggesting potential health benefits.
A novel series of biologically active tetraazamacrocyclic complexes of type [M(L)X]X 2 and [M(L)X 2 ] was prepared by template condensation reaction of dimedone, isatin, and 3,4‐diaminotoluene in the existence of trivalent and divalent transition metal ions taken in a 2:1:1:1 M ratio. All these complexes were characterized with the help of various techniques like electronic measurements, elemental analysis, molar conductance, IR, and mass spectral studies. All newly synthesized macrocyclic complexes were tested against various Gram‐positive and Gram‐negative microbial strains. The results of antimicrobial activities suggested that all complexes could show remarkable antimicrobial activity. Moreover, these complexes were also examined for their antioxidant potential in testicular tissues of the goat ( Capra hircus ) and compared with control and (as pesticide) glyphosate‐impacted tissues. From this testing, it was found that all complexes have the potential to reduce the toxic effects of pesticides.
