Ensuring frequency stability remains a persistent challenge in both single-area and multi-area power systems. Maintaining frequency stability involves the minimization and precise control of system frequencies within operational limits. The escalating utilization of power converters reliant on renewable energy sources (RES) has led to a swift reduction in the collective system inertia within interconnected power systems. This decline in system inertia amplifies the uncertainty in load frequency control, particularly in multi-area power systems. The integration of renewable energy sources intensifies the complexity of maintaining frequency stability. In response to this challenge, this paper proposes the implementation of Static Synchronous Series Compensator (SSSC) coupled with innovative load frequency control strategies to fortify and enhance the frequency stability of interconnected power systems.
