The adoption of renewable energy sources for the generation of electric power is a beneficial necessity. One of the more motivating sources of generated electricity among them is wind-based generation. Power quality issues are brought about by grid-integrated wind turbines and loads powered by electronics. It becomes crucial to reduce harmonics and control reactive or voltage in the distribution system. A shunt customized power device called a distribution static compensator (DSTATCOM) is frequently used to solve problems with power quality in distribution networks. The DSTATCOM control technique serves as crucial for controlling reactive power because it injects current to stabilize voltage at the point of common coupling. This work proposes the Wind turbine coupled Distribution Static Compensator (DSTATCOM), which is simulated in the Library for SIMULINK in MATLAB, with the goal of reducing power quality issues in the distribution system and promoting active power to the load through the utilization of wind turbines. Through MATLAB simulation results, the performance of the Wind-DSTATCOM for unbalanced and non-linear loads is demonstrated using the SRF theory.
