The aim of the research is to analyze the significance of developing social security for IDPs as a disadvantaged category of citizens in Europe on the example of Ukraine. The article focuses on the main problems which the IDPs face in other European countries when exercising their basic rights and specifically the right to social security. Issues caused by the lack of international regulation of the problem under consideration are analyzed. In addition, the ways to improve the existing situation by passing the norms of IDPs and extending their participation in all spheres of social and public life were suggested.
