The paper considers the issues of theoretical provisions and practical recommendations on the organization of criminal investigation for occupying the highest position in the criminal hierarchy. It is determined that the basis of a particular methodology is predetermined by its rational structure and differentiated approach, its necessary elements are proposed. It is concluded that it is necessary to use a set of official methods of criminalistics and scientific approaches to the study of criminal activity in the field of countering crimes provided for in Article 210.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
