Designing efficient electrocatalysts based on non-noble metals for urea oxidation reaction (UOR) is highly desirable. Herein, a facile approach is reported for the construct of Fe-NiMoO4-NF as an efficient electrocatalyst toward UOR. Remarkably, Fe-NiMoO4-NF displayed excellent UOR activity with tiny potentials of 1.362 V delivering large current density of 100 mA cm-2, surpassing other NiMoO4-NF, Fe-NiO-NF, and NF catalysts. Experimental results suggested that Fe-doping can moderate the electron structure of NiMoO4-NF, simultaneously enhancing intrinsic electrocatalytic activity and speeding up the UOR kinetics. This work highlights the potential benefits of electron structure manipulation for the rational design of advanced electrocatalysts for large-scale urea oxidation reaction.
