This chapter discusses new psychoanalytic essays and clinical journals, highlighting key analyses and insights.
This chapter reviews five works of psychoanalytic scholarship published in 2024: two volumes of Christopher Bollas’s clinical journal, Streams of Consciousness: Notebooks (spanning the periods 1974–1990 and 1991–2024); Thomas H. Ogden’s collection of essays, What Alive Means: Psychoanalytical Explorations; David Tuckett et al.’s Knowing What Psychoanalysts Do and Doing What Psychoanalysts Know; and ‘Final Words’, the supplementary chapter to Sudhir Kakar’s The Indian Jungle: Psychoanalysis and Non-Western Civilizations. Following a short introduction, the review is divided into four sections to discuss each of these works in turn.
