Analysis reveals the physico-chemical characteristics of borewell water, indicating quality issues.
This study investigates the physico‑chemical characteristics of borewell water in selected locations within Chandrapur district. Water samples were collected from five different areas of Chandrapur and analyzed for parameters including Colour, Odour, Taste, pH, electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solids (TDS), turbidity, hardness, alkalinity, Sodium, calcium, magnesium, chloride, nitrate, fluoride, Iron and Sulphate. Results were compared against the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) drinking water quality limits (IS:10500–2012). This paper recommends periodic monitoring and simple household treatments (e.g., activated alumina filters, reverse osmosis) in affected zones.
