Novel reactions utilizing superacids generate polycationic species from nitrogen-containing compounds, indicating versatile synthetic strategies.
In superacid conditions, through the capacity to generate polycationic species from functionalized organic substrates, original reactions can be conducted from unsaturated nitrogen-containing compounds, ranging from hydro- and heterofluorination to polycyclization. These strategies allow the synthesis of elaborate enantioenriched polyfunctionalized compounds, and their final exploitation in a late-stage modification approach also demonstrates their synthetic potential.
