Soybeans have significant economic importance for Brazil, occupying 45.2 million hectares. There is a wide range of varieties available on the market, and research is essential for selecting the most suitable cultivars for a given region. The objective was to evaluate the performance of soybean cultivars and determine which cultivars adapt most effectively to the edaphoclimatic conditions of the municipality of Turuçu, Rio Grande do Sul. 14 soybean cultivars 5700, 6299, 15B70, 66I68, Delta, Valente, Ícone, 15B29, 15B40, 580, 611, 16B17, 26B12 and 622 were used. The experiment was conducted in the 2022 to 2023 agricultural harvest, with four replications followed by a factorial scheme of 14 soybean cultivars. The variables analyzed consisted of evaluations regarding plant height (AP), stem diameter (DC), number of branches (NR), number of nodes (NN), vegetables with seeds on the main stem (L1HP, L2HP, L3HP, L4HP ), vegetable with seed on the secondary stem (L1HS, L2HS, L3HS, L4HS), weight of one thousand seeds on the main stem (PMS HP), weight of one thousand seeds on the secondary stem (PMS HS), weight of one thousand total seeds (PMS T ), yield on the main stem (REND HP), yield on the secondary stem (REND HS) and total yield (REND T). Statistical analysis was conducted using the Tukey test, establishing a significance level of 5% probability for evaluating the results. The Valente cultivar stood out due to the highest PMS and yield values, being considered the most suitable for the edaphoclimatic conditions for the region.
