This observational analysis identifies high-performing soybean genotypes, suggesting effective strategies for organic farming.
This study aimed to evaluate and position conventional lines of soybean in an organic system in Brazil and Paraguay with high grain yield performance. The study was conducted in the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 harvests, the experimental design used was randomized blocks (DBC), organized in an incomplete factorial scheme, with 15 environments (Bela Vista - PY, Capanema - PR, Capinzal - SC, Diamante D'Oeste - PR, Entre Rios - PR, General Câmara - RS, Major Vieira - SC, Mangueirinha - PR, Palmital - SP, Palotina - PR, Passo Fundo - RS, Salto do Lontra - PR, Tiradentes do Sul - RS, Toledo - PR, Três Passos - RS) and 14 genotypes (BRS 284, BRS 391, BRS 511, BRS 523, BRS 525, BRS 539, DF 2353, IPR110, IPR 115, IPR 122, IPR 215), and three lines (GE, GE 02, Lin 16) of soybean, arranged in four replicates per environment. The method based on Restricted Maximum Likelihood (REML) was used to estimate the variance components and genetic parameters, as well as their interactions in the model, where the significance was obtained through the 5% Deviance analysis. Subsequently, REML/BLUP estimates and predictions were used in the multivariate GGE method, allowing to more efficiently explore the genotype x environment interaction. According to the genetic parameters, a heritability of approximately 7.8% was identified for the grain yield trait. The Bela Vista-PY environment, presents high performance and yield. Regarding productive performance, the high-performance genotypes are BRS 391, BRS 525G5, BRS 539, DF 2353, GE, GE 02, IPR 110, IPR 122.
