This review analyzes literary mythology in Peredelkino and Komarovo, highlighting cultural significance and myth-making.
The publication being reviewed presents an analysis of the literary mythology of Peredelkino and Komarovo writers’ villages. The Moscow and St. Petersburg literary myths are supplemented by their “companions” - the myths from Peredelkino and Komarovo. The latter are examined in the first and second parts of the book, respectively. The book is a continuation of the research on myth-making in the literature of the Soviet and post-Soviet periods carried out in the author’s doctoral dissertation. In the new work, the author identifies the cultural potential of biographical myths, their origin and functioning. The review evaluates how effectively the author analyzes the structural units of literary myths, organizes diverse literary material, and examines a number of insufficiently studied works of the twentieth century.
