The learning process in class takes the form of a lecture, students listen to the teacher explaining and note down what the teacher writes on the blackboard. The learning media used is printed worksheets and students are required to understand independently. Students also do not know the culture in the surrounding environment well. There is no innovation in classroom learning using digital media based on ethnomathematics. This research aims to conduct a needs analysis of the learning media used. The subjects in this research were 60 students and 4 teachers, namely 33 students and 2 teachers at MAN 4 Kebumen, 27 students and 2 teachers at MTs Plus Nurul Ihsan Muktisari. The method used in this research is Research and Development (R&D) by adapting the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). At the implementation stage, the researcher limited it to the analysis stage. Data collection was carried out by observing during learning and interviews regarding the responses of Mathematics students and teachers to the learning media used in class. Obtain data in qualitative form and analyze it descriptively by generalizing the data that has been collected. The results of the needs analysis show that students find it difficult to understand mathematics material because of the conventional learning process. The media used in learning is printed worksheets so that students are not able to understand independently and students do not know local culture well. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the importance of developing digital learning media that integrates with local culture is able to help students understand mathematics material. The learning media that will be developed integrates cultural values and is packaged in the form of digital technology.
