Analysis of population outflow trends in the Far Eastern Federal District, suggesting improvements in housing and education.
This article analyzes the migration situation in the Far Eastern Federal District, which has been characterized for many years by a steady outflow of population both to other regions of the Russian Federation (mainly to the Central and Siberian Federal Districts) and abroad. Further, based on Rosstat data for 2016–2023, panel data models were evaluated and significant coefficients were determined, on the basis of which measures were proposed to reduce the outflow of population from the Far East, such as increasing housing affordability and improving the quality of higher education.
