Experimental analysis improved mechanical and electrical properties in Cu-15Ni-8Sn strips, suggesting new manufacturing methods.
This study focuses on the optimization of comprehensive mechanical and electrical properties in manufacturing high‐performance Cu‐15Ni‐8Sn alloy strips through a processing route combining cryorolling and subsequent aging. Test results show that the alloy exhibits remarkable mechanical and electrical properties under the conditions of 70% cryorolling and aging at 350 °C for 4 h, with yield and tensile strengths reaching 1264 and 1330 MPa, respectively, coupled with 9.0% IACS. These enhanced characteristics result from the synergistic effect of high‐density dislocations, deformation twins, and the uniform distribution of nanoscale coherent DO 22 ordered phases formed during aging within the alloy. This work not only elucidates the coupling strengthening mechanism between multiscale defects and precipitates, but also provides an optimized approach for improving the comprehensive property of high‐performance Cu‐15Ni‐8Sn alloy.
