Key Points

  • Sustained weight loss was observed over 2 years, supporting the long-term efficacy of liraglutide.
  • Primary outcome measures included safety and tolerability, with no significant adverse effects reported.
  • Analysis involved obese adults, demonstrating that liraglutide is a viable option for weight management over the long term in this population range and setting.  The study signifies the importance of maintaining weight loss for health benefits.

Abstract

Having demonstrated short-term weight loss with liraglutide in this group of obese adults, we now evaluate safety/tolerability (primary outcome) and long-term efficacy for sustaining weight loss (secondary outcome) over 2 years.
