Analysis of regulatory requirements enhances decision-making in forest fire safety, suggesting improved risk assessments.
Purpose. The authors analyzed the regulatory requirements in the field of fire safety in forests. It is proposed to use an expert assessment of regulatory requirements, expressed in quantitative and qualitative form, in order to select measures for planning, creating and maintaining forest fire protection facilities relative to other protection facilities. Methods. The expert method, the method theory of system analysis, management and decision-making were used to solve the tasks. Findings. The authors have developed an algorithm for information and analytical support for decision-making when assessing the likelihood of a forest fire and the risk of damage from a surface and crown forest fire to nearby facilities under protection using computational methods for specific situations based on the expert method. Research application field. The results of the work can be used in the field of the Federal Forestry Agency, in expert activities, insurance companies, as well as scientific research in the field of fire safety in forests. Conclusions. To ensure the fire safety of forests, it is advisable to simulate the possible occurrence of dangerous natural processes and phenomena using calculated certified or proven methods in order to substantiate the values of fire breaks or distances based on the expert method.
