Linguistic experiment identifies perceptual authors in news content, suggesting implications for optimizing audience engagement.
The article considers modeling the image of a perceptual author represented in the news discourse of the official website, which we regard as one of the types of a virtual author. The study was carried out in the context of Internet linguistics, the subject of which is virtual communication implemented through a website. The novelty of the research lies in differentiating the concept of the author's image and the study of the perceptual author. The purpose of the article is to identify the types of perceptual authors of the news text posted on the company's official website. The research method was a linguistic experiment, which allows us to identify the image of the perceptual author and its types based on the results of the survey. It is proved that the perceptual author is characterized by dual properties and is evaluated by the addressee in both positive and negative modes. The research results are of practical value, as they allow optimizing the content creation process, taking into account the perception of the target audience.
