Curzon 3 Viaduct is the last of the Curzon Street Station approach viaducts that will carry the UK’s HS2 high speed rail line from London into the Curzon Street Station in central Birmingham. This paper describes the key constraints, preliminary design considerations and detailed design development of the structure. The paper also presents some key technical challenges and particular design features. The key interfaces that had to be considered in the design, the overall construction methodology and some key construction considerations are also outlined.
