The theoretical approach of B. N. Putilov who postulated a typical character of the Russian mythological stories (“bylichkas”), regular reproducibility of their plots and motifs that have analogues in the Slavic (and not only) plot resources was analyzed in this study. B. N. Putilov paid special attention to a specific poetics and intertextuality of this category of folk prose.
