The article is devoted to the formation of the next volume of the series “Epics” of the Code of Russian Folklore. Along with the target setting for the most complete coverage of the materials recorded during the expeditions of different years, the emphasis is on identifying dubious epic records. In addition to a comparative analysis of texts, indirect information is also used for this purpose.
