Successful correction of occluded left pulmonary artery anomaly in a newborn, highlighting treatment methodologies and associated congenital defects.
Ductal origin of one pulmonary artery from ascending aorta is a rare anomaly whose incidence does not reach 0.12% of all congenital heart defects. It is often combined with other congenital heart defects, such as ventricular and atrial septal defects, tetralogy of Fallot, vascular ring, aortopulmonary window and patent ductus arteriosus. We present successful step-by-step correction of anomalous origin of the occluded left pulmonary artery from the innominate artery in a newborn.
