This research was conducted to understand how vehicle speed regulation can help improve safety on Jalan Ir. H. Juanda, Slawi, Tegal Regency. From the results of direct observation in the field, the P85 speed recorded for motorcycles was 69km/h, 65 km/h for cars, and 51 km/h for medium vehicles. This figure shows that there are still many motorists who exceed the safe limit, so they are at risk of causing accidents. In response to this, several recommendation is the installation of speed limit signs in accordance with the Indonesian Minister of Transportation Regulation No. PM 111 of 2015. According to this regulation, for secondary collector roads equipped with a median, the recommended speed limit is 50 km/h for four-wheeled or larger vehicles in the fast lane, 40 km/h for two-wheeled vehicles in the fast lane, and 30 km/h for all vehicles in the slow lane, installing school zone signs and warning signs, as well as adding physical facilities such as rumble strips and safety zone markings. Not only that, warning lights (two-color APILL) are also recommended to be installed, along with the closure of U-turn access in certain locations that are prone to accidents. It is hoped that this effort can form more orderly driving behavior and create a safer road environment for all users, especially in areas with fairly heavy traffic.
