Observational analysis shows the influence of gas flows on residual stresses in aircraft parts, indicating potential for improved quality control during production and repair.
The actual problem of effective stress control in products of small thickness with high requirements for the surface quality, for which the methods of surface plastic deformation are limited, is discussed. The influence of unsteady subsonic gas flows affluent on aircraft structural elements on the level and the sign of residual stresses was established. It allows one to control residual stresses in aircraft parts at the stages of production, operation and repair.
