Analysis shows key functions of urban green areas in Moscow, highlighting threats from pests and diseases.
Urban green spaces play an important role in maintaining the ecological balance of megacities. They perform key functions: regulate the microclimate, purify the air and absorb noise, improving the quality of life of citizens. These territories are classified into general use, restricted access, and special purpose areas. Using the example of Moscow, it can be seen that most of the plantings, despite their weakened state, remain viable. However, they are threatened by specific urban pests and diseases.
