Analysis reveals magnetic anisotropy changes in thin films of Co2MnGa, suggesting the role of chemical ordering.
Abstract The magnetic anisotropy and magnetoelastic properties of the magnetic Weyl semimetal Co ₂ MnGa were investigated in the Co ₂ MnGa thin films with different chemical orderings. These properties are changing with the increase in the contents of the higher-ordered B2 and L2 ₁ phases. The most significant changes of both the magnetic anisotropy and the magnetoelastic properties were correlated with the appearance of the L2 ₁ ordered phase of Heusler alloy, suggesting that the emergence of magnetic Weyl semimetallic feature is the key point to vary these properties.
