Quantitative analysis shows project-based learning significantly enhances scientific literacy in sixth-grade students, indicating effective educational strategies.
Data from the 2022 PISA survey shows that Indonesian students' scientific literacy scores are low, ranking 69th out of 81 participating countries. The purpose of this study was to describe the application of project-based learning to improve scientific literacy integrated into Natural and Social Sciences subjects. This study used a quantitative method with a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The subjects were 28 sixth-grade students at Marsudirini Santa Theresia Elementary School. The results showed an increase in scientific literacy after the implementation of project-based learning. This result, based on the results of a hypothesis test using a paired sample t-test, showed a Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05. Therefore, H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that there was an increase in scientific literacy through the implementation of project-based learning in Natural and Social Sciences subjects at sixth-grade students at Marsudirini Santa Theresia Elementary School.
