Against the backdrop of deepening global sustainable trade, green trade barriers, an important embodiment of environmental protection and sustainable resource utilization, are placing significant limitations on international agricultural trade. As a resource-intensive sector, the cotton industry faces stricter environmental standards and trade barriers in key markets, impacting its access and competitiveness. There is an urgent need for the industry to enhance adaptive capacity through green production technologies and supply chain management to achieve sustainable development goals. This paper explores the adaptation of Chinas cotton export industry from the perspective of global green trade barriers, analyzing global market trends in green transformation and their impact on Chinas cotton sector. By examining Chinas cotton export structure, green production practices, and supply chain management, this study suggests strategies for boosting the industrys global competitiveness through collaboration and green technological innovation. The results show that the cotton industry must systematically drive green transformation by optimizing production processes, improving resource efficiency, and reducing environmental impact, while establishing a transparent and efficient green supply chain management system to meet growing international environmental standards.
