Observational analysis shows finite element simulation validates petal gear design in engineering applications, indicating effective load-bearing performance.
Introduction: The purpose of this paper is to clarify the basic structure and transmission principle of the spatial petal gear, derive the tooth surface equation and meshing equation, and determine the boundary dimensions according to the meshing characteristics of the patent. Methods: The basic parameters of the petal gear are designed and calculated using MATLAB software. A three-dimensional model is established using Creo software, and the kinematics simulation is analyzed to verify the correctness of the innovative structure. Results: A finite element simulation is performed for the transmission of the petal gear, and an overload analysis is conducted to obtain the Mises stress distribution nephogram. Discussion: The overload and load-bearing capacities of petal gears are studied. It can be seen that the stress state of petal gears is much lower than the allowable value of the material. Conclusion: Through three-dimensional modeling and kinematics simulation analysis, the correctness of the innovative structure is verified. The contact stress of petal teeth is analyzed using the finite element method to verify the rationality of structural design and the correctness of relevant theories.
