The gravitational-quantum model demonstrates mass arising from self-consistent quasinormal modes, suggesting a new framework beyond the Higgs mechanism.
Abstract We propose that particle mass emerges from self-consistent quasinormal modes of a scalar field trapped within a time-dilation-induced refractive index well. Unlike prior heuristic models, we solve the fully coupled Einstein–Klein–Gordon system with backreaction using a self-consistent numerical iteration. Stable solutions satisfy a refined geometric relation R99% ≈ ℏ/mc ≈ 4GM/c2, yielding a ground-state mass m0 ≈ 0.28 mPl. Higher modes form a discrete spectrum, offering a geometric origin for mass quantization without the Higgs mechanism.
