Analysis reveals common errors in temperature compensation methods for strain gauges, suggesting improved methods for accurate measurements.
This paper discusses the working principle of vibrating wire strain gauges, the principle of strain measurement and its corresponding methods for temperature compensation. It identifies common errors and their causes in the current temperature compensation methods for vibrating wire strain gauges. These errors are based on the confusion between temperature strain of the material and temperature strain of the structure. Furthermore, a new method for obtaining temperature stress is proposed in this paper.
