Interviews reveal findings on metabolism and mitochondrial dynamics in human diseases through lysosome biogenesis.
First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Sudeshna Nag is first author on ‘ PGAM5 cleavage and oligomerization equilibrates mitochondrial dynamics under stress by regulating DRP1 function’, published in JCS. Sudeshna conducted the research described in this article while a graduate student in Dr Angus McQuibban's lab at Department of Biochemistry, University of Toronto. She is now a Postdoctoral fellow in same lab, investigating mitochondria and lysosome biogenesis and function and the role of metabolism in human diseases.
