Analysis reveals that interoperability of acoustic simulation tools with Building Information Modeling may improve design processes and user experiences.
The objective of this study is computational acoustic simulation and its importance in the search for more complex shapes and devices as a solution to a given sound demand, driving the use of parameterized acoustic conditioning elements. This article analyzes the ODEON, EASE, and Dynamo tools, aiming to highlight the importance of interoperability with Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology in information exchange and process automation. The research addresses acoustic parameters, design stages, and analysis criteria through a descriptive and exploratory methodology, seeking to understand the context of acoustic simulations and their interconnection with BIM. As a discussion, it is possible to highlight the limitations of the tools, especially regarding the lack of native compatibility with the IFC format and the absence of plugins for direct integration with BIM. Despite the widespread use of these tools, significant challenges still exist for the full integration of BIM technology with acoustic simulation, requiring more accessible and interconnected solutions, as well as innovations such as artificial intelligence to enhance immersive experiences.
