The Chettiar community has been present in South India since the time of kings. From ancient times, they have been engaged in trade, import-export, and small-scale businesses. The term “Chettiar” refers broadly to a social group. Within this community,several subgroups exist, such as the 24-Manai Telugu Chettiars, Nattukottai Chettiars, and Kongu Chettiars, among others. This study focuses specifically on the 24-Manai Telugu Chettiars and their clan deities, documenting their traditions and heritage based on field research.
