Systematic review reveals connections among supply chain resilience, organizational effectiveness, and firm performance, highlighting research directions.
This study systematically reviews the relationship between supply chain resilience, organizational effectiveness, and firm performance. It aims to fill gaps in the literature by integrating various theoretical frameworks, contexts, and variables through the Theory, Context, Characteristics, and Methodology (TCCM) framework. Analyzing 58 articles from Scopus and Google Scholar using the Scientific Procedures and Rationales for Systematic Literature Reviews (SPR-4-SLR) approach, the study employs the TCCM framework to examine the existing literature. This approach systematically explores the theories underpinning the relationship between supply chain resilience, organizational effectiveness, and firm performance, the contextual factors influencing this dynamic, the distinctive characteristics shaping their interaction, and the diverse methods employed in the studies. The study offers insights by synthesizing existing research directions aimed at improving supply chain resilience and firm performance. The study highlights the need for modern theories and innovative methods, such as digitalization, the circular economy, and risk analytics. It identifies notable gaps in understanding the relationship between supply chain resilience and organizational effectiveness and explores potential avenues for future research in this domain. This research contributes to the knowledge base of supply chain resilience, organizational effectiveness, and firm performance. It provides theoretical insights for researchers in supply chain management, flexible management, organizational management, and related areas. It lays the groundwork for future research efforts, encouraging further investigation into this relationship and contributing to the evolving discourse on organizational resilience and performance.
