Analysis shows improved ride comfort and handling stability in vehicles, indicating effective vibration suppression strategies.
Due to the increased unsprung mass and unbalanced electromagnetic force excitations, the comfort of the ride and the stability of handling of Hub Motor Driven Vehicles (HMDV) are deteriorated. In response to the deterioration of the performance indicators brought by the hub motors, this study first establishes the full car model of HMDV, and combines inertial suspension with the Skyhook (SH) and Mixed Skyhook-Acceleration Driven Damping (SH-ADD) control strategies. The inertial suspension is used to minimize the negative impact of HMDV, and the NSGA-II optimization algorithm is employed for optimizing suspension parameters with multiple objectives. Then, this study analyzes the variation trends of different performance indicators with increasing vehicle speed and the effects of inertial coefficient changes on the evaluation of the SH-ADD inertial suspension performance. And results indicate that the inertial suspension enhances both the ride comfort and handling stability of HMDV, with SH-ADD performing superior to single SH in suppressing vehicle vibrations across a broader frequency range.
