An archaeological watching brief was mounted on the groundworks for a new double detached garage on a site that included an existing modern residential dwelling. Several phases of mechanical ground reduction along with the mechanical excavation of the foundations for the new build from the reduced site levels were monitored. No archaeological activity was identified on this site. A site deposit sequence consisting of a modern imported topsoil horizon, a buried soil or garden soil horizon and underlying natural horizons were recorded. No significant finds were made. The finds assemblage consisted exclusively of modern 20th century material, including some of which related to the construction of the present modern 20th century dwelling on the site. The results were consistent with an earlier watching brief on this site of 2015.
