Case report demonstrates endovascular management of active bleeding from pancreatic artery in a patient with pancreatitis, suggesting a safer alternative to surgery.
A BSTRACT Pseudoaneurysms of splenic artery or its branches constitute major health related concern in patients with pancreatitis. If pseudoaneurysm is accompanied by active bleeding it becomes a life threatening situation. Though earlier managed by surgical approaches, nowadays most of these cases are being successfully managed by minimally invasive endovascular intervention techniques with procedure related morbidity significantly less than surgical procedures. This case report gives insight into endovascular management of multiple pseudoaneurysms and active bleeding from dorsal pancreatic artery in a young male patient suffering of acute necrotizing pancreatitis.
