One of the most common categories included in a life care plan is home support services. The purpose of this article is to discuss the benefits of relying on objective functional testing and a home assessment in determining whether or not an individual requires assistance with domestic activities, and, if so, the type and extent of home support required. A case example is provided at the end to illustrate the value of objective functional testing in future care planning.
