Observational analysis mapped 494 landslides in the Tibetan Plateau region, indicating crucial data for geohazard prevention.
Located on the eastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau, the upper Minjiang River region is highly prone to landslides due to unstable geology and frequent seismic activity. While landslide susceptibility has been studied, limited attention has been given to the spatial–temporal patterns of ancient or relic landslides. This study focuses on the Mao County–Diexi Town section, using Google Earth images and human‐computer interaction methods to identify and analyze relic landslides. A total of 494 landslides were mapped, covering approximately 141 km 2 . The highest landslide number density (5 km radius) is 0.867/km 2 , with a maximum area density of 45.8%. Average height and length are 414.35 and 697.77 m, respectively. This comprehensive inventory improves upon previous datasets and provides crucial baseline data for understanding regional landslide development, supporting geohazard prevention and risk assessment efforts.
