Analysis reveals fixed point existence and uniqueness for functional integral equations in metric spaces, indicating potential applications.
In this work, we investigate fixed point results for new rational contraction mappings in metric spaces, which are generalizations of many well-known fixed point results for various contraction types, encompassing three famous contraction mappings: the Banach, Kannan, and Chatterjea contraction mappings. An illustrative example is provided to demonstrate the validation of the main result. As applications, we discuss the existence and uniqueness of the solutions for functional integral equations using our theoretical fixed point result.
